Moss, algae and lichen are the common culprits that create dirty and unsightly roofs. They normally begin their life cycle as airborne spores that settles on roofs, the spores on the northern exposure of the roof stand a better chance of survival because that portion of the roof is the last part to dry after a rain or morning dew. This raises the humidity on the surface of the tile, thus creating a perfect feeding and breeding ground. This creates clumps of moss that quickly spreads to a carpet that can cover your entire roof.
When we’re called in will clean the roof of any moss, algae and lichen. Once properly cleaned, your roof will be treated with a Microbiological Biocide which will impregnate and stop germination on the roof. It soaks into the roof tiles and remains active for between 2 to 3 years.
